Day 1 - Arrival to Kunming
- Start your 8 days of wondrous travel with arrival by bullet train or plane in Kunming, where our driver will transfer you to your hotel for some rest or to explore the Spring City.
- Overnight in Kunming.

Day 2 - Kunming Tour & Bullet Train to Dali
- Start day two of your tour early with a chauffeured drive to Shilin, or the famous Stone Forest only an hour's drive from the city.
- Take a guided tour through the towering limestone formations that make up this park, and marvel at the unique shapes and karst oddities that dot the landscape.
- This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most unique sites in the region and an otherworldly landscape that's sure to amaze you.
- Spend the afternoon back in Kunming at the Birds and Flowers Market, a buzzing place filled with colorful sights, raucous sounds, and verdant plants at every turn.
- Take a quick trip to the Green Lake in the center of the city, an urban lung for this busy metropolis, and then take a famous bullet train to Dali.
- Overnight in Dali (Breakfast included).

Day 3 - Dali Sightseeing
- Take the morning to explore the old town of Dali, including the busy and beautiful Foreigner Street, the ancient city wall that dates from 1382 CE, and the imposing Gate Tower.
- Make your way to Chongsheng Monastery, a former royal temple and home to the incredible Three Pagodas that make up the majority of the complex.
- Move to Xizhou in the afternoon, a stunning rural town surrounded by a glittering lake and rolling hills.
- Enjoy a walk through the picturesque old town, admiring the Bai ethnicity's traditional architecture and a three-course tea in a traditional tea-shop.
- Continue to the verdant Haishe Park to see the jade waters of Erhai Lake, ending the day in Zhoucheng village to take part in a local tie-dyeing workshop before returning to the city.

Day 4 - Dali - Lijiang
- Take the morning to drive to the picturesque town of Lijiang, a busy and crucial commercial center from the 1300's that houses a quaint old town, cobblestone streets, and stunning views of the nearby Jade Dragon Snow Mountain range.
- You'll visit the cinematic Black Dragon Pool, famous for its reflective beauty at the foot of Elephant Hill, and the Dongba Cultural Museum that focuses on the minority community of the Naxi people.
- Afterwards, take some time to explore the old town independently.
- At 5 pm, you'll meet your guide at the Big Waterwheel(大水车) and transfer to your hotel.
- Overnight in Lijiang (Breakfast included).

Day 5 - Lijiang Sightseeing
- Start with an early visit to the picturesque Old Town of Baisha, a winding labyrinth of historic waterways and stone bridges that cross the streets.
- Admire exquisite temples and intricate pavilions in this quiet village on the edge of the Yulong Mountains, and visit the famous Baisha Murals.
- These 44 pieces from the Ming Dynasty are a mix of artistic styles from the Naxi, Tibetan, Han, and Bai people that depict scenes from Buddhism and Taoism in their vibrant panels.
- If a natural escape is more your speed, you're welcome to visit the Jade Dragon Mountain in the morning instead of exploring Baisha.
- Spend the afternoon visiting the last village dotting the Lijiang Basin, a Naxi village named Yuhu.
- The buildings here are made of a unique stone called Monkey Head, and overlook a stunning lake at the foot of the mountains.
- You can also visit the former residence of Joseph Rock, a world-famous Austrian-American botanist that spent decades of his life in this small village.
- Then you'll be driven back to Lijiang for an evening of exploring and rest.

Day 6 - Lijiang – Tiger Leaping Gorge -Shangri-La
- Spend your morning in the button capital of the world, Qiaotou Town, perched high in the mountains.
- Then, make your way to the first bend of the iconic Yangtze River on your way to the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, part of the Yunnan Protected Areas World Heritage Site.
- This rugged and cinematic gorge is the perfect place for a three hour hike, leaving from Tina's Guesthouse and winding through the jagged canyon for unparalleled views.
- Spend the afternoon in Dukezong's Ancient Town, a key stop on the ancient Tea-Horse Road and a center for Han-Tibetan commercial dealings.
- It's the best preserved Tibetan city in China, filled with historic dwellings, lanterns of all shapes hanging along the winding alleys, pristine pagodas, and gilded prayer halls.
- It's also home to the largest ancient Tibetan community, and the panoramic views from the top of Guishan Hill showcase the city and the world-renowned Grand Prayer Wheel.

Day 7 - Shangri-La Sightseeing
- Get picked up at the storied Songzanlin Monastery, famous for its peaked roofs and stunning design that's stood since 1679, and is now home to 700 monks and lamas.
- You'll tour the grounds with your expert guide, learning about how it's been built and rebuilt over the centuries and the famous spiritual leaders that have called this monastery home.
- Continue your day with a visit to a local Tibetan village, Xiaojiezi, and meet a local family to learn more about rural Tibet's traditions and customs.
- Head to the Napahai Lake, a gorgeous mirrored lake high in the mountains that's a massive nature reserve, and host to expansive wetlands that include habitats for migratory birds.
- End the day at Shangri-La downtown and visit Moonshine Square (in Chinese: 月光广场).
- Overnight in Shangri-La (Breakfast included).

Day 8 - Departure from Shangri-La
- On the last day of your tour, you'll be taken by a private driver to the Shangri-La Airport to continue on your journey.
