The day begins with a trip to the Jatiluwih rice terrace fields, a cinematic landscape of lush fields, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that still uses the traditional Subak irrigation system that has existed for centuries, and then drive north to the panoramic lookout over the twin lakes of Tamblingan and Buyan.
This overlook showcases the picturesque beauty of Buyan lake and the more impressive Tamblingan lake which were united until the 1800's when a landslide created the rainforest-covered hill that now separates them.
Enjoy lunch in a nearby restaurant before driving to Ulun Danu temple, which rests on the banks of Lake Beratan and seems to float serenely above the water.
You'll learn more about the Ulun Danu Temple while overlooking the water from this iconic and stunning sanctuary circled by the Bedugul mountains, before returning to your hotel.
