Why we chose this tour

With our Kyoto Tour from Tokyo via Bullet Train (Shinkansen) you will visit the picture-perfect city of Kyoto, home to thousands of temples and shrines. From Tokyo you will head to a train station of your choice and jump on board the Nozomi Shinkansen bullet train to the historic city of Kyoto. Choose to depart from Tokyo Station, Shinagawa Station, or Shin-Yokohama Station.
Upon arrival in Kyoto’s bustling city center, you will join a guided bus tour which will visit Kyoto’s most impressive sites including Kinkaku-ji temple and Nijo Castle which are both UNESCO World Heritage sites. The tour will also pass the Kyoto Imperial Palace which was home to the royal family until 1869. In the afternoon visitors will have some free time to explore this large and diverse city. There are plenty of things to see and do in Kyoto including tea ceremonies and traditional cooking classes. Visitors can also venture to the Ashiyama district in Western Kyoto to admire the area’s famous natural landmarks including the Bamboo Forest, or, head to the historic district of Gion which is the home of geisha. As the afternoon in Kyoto is yours to do with what you wish, there are a number of departure times to choose from. The day will end with a journey back to Tokyo on the bullet train.
