Day 1 - Arrival in Siem Reap, Cambodia
  • Welcome to Cambodia with your arrival in Siem Reap!
  • You'll be picked up by a private driver and transported to your hotel for check-in and some time to rest or explore the charming city around you.
  • Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 2 - Ancient Khmer, Angkor Thom & Angkor Wat Temple Tour
  • Start the day with a visit to Angkor Thom's South Gate, one of the most well-preserved Buddhist gateways that were erected in the 12th century.
  • Make your way into the complex itself to visit the breathtaking Bayon Temple, the sprawling Royal Encoluse, Phimeanaka, and the Elephant and Leper King terraces.
  • Get closer to nature when you trek to Ta Prohm, a ruined temple in the heart of the forest surrounded by towering trees and the place where many scenes from Lara Croft: Tomb Raider were filmed.
  • Enjoy some lunch and rest before you visit the Hindu temples of Thommanon, Chaosay Tevoda, and Ta Keo, intricate temples built at the same time as Angkor Wat.
  • Now it's time to immerse yourself in the magnificent beauty of Angkor Wat, one of the 7 Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • It's home to the longest continuous bas-relief in the world that details stories from Hindu mythology and its wondrous beauty are indescribable.
  • End the day at Bakheng Hill, home to the first major temple in the area and the perfect spot to view Tonle Sap and Angkor Wat as the sun sinks behind the horizon.

Day 3 - Phnom Penh
  • Transfer to Phnom Penh by bus after breakfast, passing by pastoral villages and fields on your way to the Royal Palace.
  • It's a current residence of the royal family and His Majesty, the King of Cambodia, a collection of buildings that looks like a scene from a fairytale.
  • The next stop is the Silver Pagoda, which is a repository for cultural treasures rather than a functional temple and houses a 90-kilogram golden Buddha encrusted with over 2,000 diamonds.
  • The last stop of the day before you have the day for yourself is Wat Phnom Temple, built-in 1373 by the wealthy widow Daun Chi Penh and one of the area's most important pagodas.

Day 4 - Phnom Penh & Ho Chi Minh
  • Finish your breakfast before dashing out the door to the Tuol Sleng Museum, formerly the S-21 Prison.
  • Used by Pol Pot's security forces, over 17,000 prisoners were held here before being taken to the Choeng Ek extermination camp.
  • After this heavy morning, continue to the Tuol Tompoung Market, known for its cheap clothing, Buddha souvenirs, classical musical instruments, and silk confections.
  • The afternoon will be spent flying to Ho Chi Minh City and checking into your hotel for some leisure time in the evening.

Day 5 - Cu Chi Tunnel Tour
  • Snack on a hearty breakfast before leaving Ho Chi Minh City behind to explore the gorgeous countryside of Vietnam on your way to the legendary Cu Chi tunnels.
  • Watch a short introductory video about the 155 miles of tunnels that form this underground network just beneath your feet.
  • Learn about why these tunnels were constructed during the Indochina conflict, the traps that cover their lengths, and how people survived for months underground.
  • Explore the bedrooms, weapons factories, field hospitals, underground wells, and underground wells that run throughout the network.
  • You'll also see the booby traps, trap doors, and maze-like tunnels used to confused and injure intruders before tasting Cu Chi tapioca.

Day 6 - Mekong Delta Cruise
  • Today is your day to explore the stunning Mekong Delta, a richly green area punctuated by rural villages, rushing rivers, and intriguing islands.
  • Being with a sampan cruise down the waters of the Mekong, passing by the famous Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise Islands along your way.
  • Disembark at Unicorn Island to stroll country lanes and wind your way through orchards, enjoying fresh tropical fruits, local folk music, and a tour of a fruit plantation.
  • Take another sampan down the Thoi Son Canal, hopping off the enjoy the pastoral beauty of the countryside, visiting a honey-bee farm and family workshops to taste honey tea and handmade coconut candies.
  • Finish the morning with lunch at a local restaurant, eating in a wild garden before you cycle to Tan Thach village to learn more about daily life in the fertile Mekong Delta.

Day 8 - Hue
  • Go straight from breakfast to the boat station for a dragon boat cruise along the Perfume River.
  • Your first stop is the Thien Mu Pagoda, the most beautiful in Vietnam, then continue to the Imperial Citadel, the residence of Vietnam's last royal dynasty, the Nguyen Dynasty.
  • Move onto the Royal Antiquities Museum, one of the country's first museums that is home to Hue and Royal's antiques dating back centuries, including china, musical instruments, bronzeware, and personal belongings of the Royals.
  • The last stop before lunch is at Dong Ba market, perfect for picking up souvenirs and cultural gifts.
  • After lunch, make your way to the Emperor's tombs that date back centuries and are famous for their unique architectural style.
  • While traveling back to Hue, stop at villages famous for producing conical hats and incense sticks where you'll see traditional methods for creating these wonders before having the evening in Hue to yourself.

  • Listen to his stories about this turbulent time and enjoy homegrown snacks before you head out to the Ri village tea plantation to pick some leaves yourself.
  • Move to the house of Mrs. Chin, an experienced cook of traditional Vietnamese dishes, where she'll prepare a lunch that you can enjoy in her back garden.
  • Make your way to a craftsman's workshop to see how tofu is made, watch villagers shell rice, or marvel at the conical hats this region is famous for before cycling out of the villages and into the sweeping lanes.
  • Watch for water buffalo plowing paddies while ducks wing across the sky.
  • The day ends with a foot soak made from a traditional Muong herbal blend before you drive back to Hanoi.
