Where is Larnaca Airport (LCA)?
Larnaca International Airport is located 4 km south of Larnaca. Its in close proximity to major cities of Cyprus, including Nicosia and Ayia Napa. Travelers heading to these nearby cities choose Larnaca over Paphos Airport, which is the only other international gateway of the island.
LCA Terminals
There is only one passenger terminal, although a second is reserved exclusively for diplomats. The terminal offers an extensive range of facilities to serve passengers comfortably during stopovers and layovers. There are ATM’s, WiFi, currency exchange, a kids play area, even a post office!
Larnaca airport also offers facilities specially designed for disabled passengers. These include adapted restrooms, wheelchairs, and parking spots. LCA – Larnaca City Center
Getting between Larnaca airport and Larnaca is simple, and takes between 15-30 minutes. You can either make use of the public bus, which is cheaper, or opt for a private ride.
There are six bus lines operating this route for a fare of 1.50-2€. You can also purchase a day ticket for the entire Larnaca district for 5€. Alternately, take an airport taxi by booking in advance or on-arrival from the taxi queue. The fare is around 15€, but you can reach the city in comfort within 15 minutes. In addition, its important to consider that buses stop operating after 9 PM, so a taxi may be your only option for evening flights.
If you prefer to drive, you can easily rent a car directly at the airport, though during peak season its best to do so in advance.
LCA – Nicosia
The capital of Cyprus, Nicosia is situated around 40 km from Larnaca Airport. There’s no direct public bus service from the airport to Nicosia. First take bus (418) to Larnaca Finikoudes, continue with an intercity bus to Nicosia. The entire journey takes approximately 2 hours.
If you prefer an alternate budget option, take the Kapnos airport shuttle, which runs frequently along this route. The shuttle will drop you off in the city center. And from there, you may have to book a taxi to get to your accommodation. The journey will take around 35-50 minutes depending on traffic, and a ticket costs around 5-8€.
If convenience is your priority, hail a taxi from the queue outside the airport. The ride will cost around 50€ or more, but its a hassle-free journey. Alternately, rent a car and let the adventures begin!
LCA – Limassol
The distance from Larnaca Airport to Limassol is around 66 km, and the main motorway makes traveling easy and convenient. Limassol Airport Express operates buses every hour, 24/7, including holidays. The journey takes around 60 minutes, and there are two pick-up/drop-off points in Limassol. From the airport, the bus stops at Amathountos Grand Resort, which takes around 45 minutes, and then at Agios Georgios Havouzas Church, which takes another 15 minutes. The fare will cost around 4-9€ for one way and 8-18€ for return.
For optimal convenience, a taxi or minibus will take you directly to the city within 45 minutes. Fares start from 53€, depending on the type of vehicle you book. Renting a car is also an option, if you prefer to navigate your own adventure.
LCA – Ayia Napa
Travelers who want to visit Ayia Napa choose Larnaca airport, situated 50 km from the city. For public transportation, take a bus from the airport to Larnaca city center first and then an intercity bus to Ayia Napa. Since this trip will take around 2 hours, the shuttle bus service is a better budget option. The shuttle runs to and from Larnaca Airport frequently until midnight. It costs around 7€ and takes only 50 minutes to reach Ayia Napa. A taxi will cost around 50€, or rent a car so that you have the luxury of driving according to your schedule.
